Introducing ZYFR, a modern display typeface.
I was recently inspired to design a typeface that I felt missing from my own catalog.
DESIGN USE: ZYFR was designed to become an instant LOGOTYPE just by typing the word. The weight of the font allows it to scale very small with integrity. Use this typeface to communicate the name of a product or brand name. Use it on a poster or for a band name. Dial the attitude up or down by using some of the alternate characters. By simply toggling between lower and uppercase with a few of the characters (i.e.; Aa, Oo, Ss), This allows you to achieve instant gratification by allowing you to quickly recognize a typographic opportunity and inspire you to make quick graphical decisions instantly.
This font is not fussy and it was designed not to get in the way of the message. Very nicely, the weight of ZYFR allows for a sophisticated gallery feel when adding a secondary light weight serif or san serif typeface to it. The weight difference will instantly compliment each of them in the context of a subhead or body copy. Texture is everything.
I took the perspective of the client and I wanted something that looked progressive by nature and yet seamlessly timeless. I wanted it to feel vintage and yet clean. I wanted something that I could instantly dial the identity up and down. Something strong enough to play front and center and yet not too over powering.
